I was recently married and my wife is one cert. from being a master diver so I decided that I should give it a try. We contacted Alvaro prior to our honeymoon trip to Cancun and I can say it was the best choice we made. I did my required dives to get my certification and enjoyed them so much that I went on another two dive trip. He told me that they are in the business of making friends not customers and although I was only there a week by the time I left it was like I had known Alvaro and his crew for years. It’s been a few years since my last dive – 15 to be more accurate! Along with the years, I’ve had some natural changes that everyone experiences getting older. I’ve wanted to resume diving for a number of years now, but one thing or another prevented me – including finding a dive buddy that would accompany me on that first dive after so long away. Through mutual friends that i know from Vancouver – who vacation in Cancun with a more-or-less primary interest in the diving surrounding the town, Al (Alvara Gonzalez) was recommended to me as the only guy to get me back in the water. Their recommendation proved flawless. Al is one of the most patient instructors I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with. At a pool session, he patiently re-acquainted me with both equipment and protocol and gave me the encouragement I needed to get back underwater. Then, on my first dive at the Museo Subacuatico just off the coast of nearby Isla Mujeres, Al stayed with me and the rest of the small company of divers through the entire dive experience – making small adjustments to equipment, making sure I was OK and leading all divers over the fascinating underwater statuary that comprised the site. More experienced divers swam freely throughout the site. When It was time to leave this fascinating undersea world and surface, everyonel commented on what a great experience it was.

Whether you’re the most experienced diver in the world or just starting or re-acquainting with the sport, I’ve gotta tell you there isn’t a dive operation better than AlwaysDiving. Thanks to you Al and your team of caring professionals!

I met Al about 10 years ago when my wife and I had taken a trip to Cancun, and made a few dives with him. He was one of not only the best divers I had met , but also one of the best people I had ever met. Since that first dive in Cancun we had been all over the Yucatan with him. I have been to some of the most beautiful caves in the country, and have done some spectacular technical dives . Al had taught me a lot about underwater video and after our first dive together I was hooked. We have spent many hours both underwater and topside with him and his family and I can tell you that you will not find a better person than Alvero. If you are looking for a great experience and not only a professional guide, but the most patient teacher on the planet Al is your man. I can guarantee you will not be dissapointed.
